The South Whidbey School District board of directors voted last week to maintain their respective positions.
The annual organizational meeting took place last Wednesday at South Whidbey Elementary School. It was a chance for board members to vote on which of their colleagues would act as chairperson, vice chair-board auditor and legislative representative for the upcoming year.
The members voted unanimously that Linda Racicot shall remain chairwoman, Steve Scoles shall remain vice chair-board auditor and Rocco Gianni shall remain legislative representative, a position he took over upon former board member Fred O’Neal’s resignation this fall.
The two remaining positions, Washington Interscholastic Activities Association representative and policy representative, did not require a vote. Damian Greene elected to remain Washington Interscholastic Activities Association representative and the newest board member, Julie Hadden, elected to take on the role of policy representative. Hadden and Greene’s colleagues expressed their approval of this decision.
