South Whidbey schools to review budget, substitute teachers

South Whidbey School District directors will meet for a workshop and discussion of the 2014/2015 school year budget and substitute teacher employment policy today. In a meeting June 25, the school board discussed proposed spending allocations for the coming school year including potential additions to high school class offerings and district-wide technology equipment purchases.

In a meeting June 25, the school board discussed proposed spending allocations for the coming school year including potential additions to high school class offerings and district-wide technology equipment purchases.

At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9 in the South Whidbey elementary school community room, the school board will meet to discuss the budget.

Board members will also discuss a proposed revision of the substitute teacher employment policy including long-term substitute teachers’ pay schedule and the policy regarding employment of retired teachers as substitutes, amending this section to include the board’s statement of adherence to the rules dictated by the Washington State Retirement System.
