Students injured after rollover

Five South Whidbey High School students were injured Thursday night when the Jeep Wrangler they were riding in crashed into another car and rolled into a ditch.

“Five South Whidbey High School students were injured Thursday night when the Jeep Wrangler they were riding in crashed into another car and rolled into a ditch.According to the Washington State Patrol, Kelsey Ellis, 18, of Langley lost control of her Jeep at about 5:15 p.m. while driving eastbound on Maxwelton Road. The patrol’s report states that Ellis crossed the center line twice after overcompensating for a swerve toward the shoulder. The second time the Jeep crossed the line, it slid sideways into a Toyota Corolla driven by Jon Ballog, 45, of Langley. The Jeep then rolled twice and landed upright in the ditch.Hurt in the crash were Ellis with a lacerated finger; Hillary Wick, 15, of Langley with a skinned knee; Caitlin Robinson, 14, of Langley with chest and back pain; Kelsey Robinson, 16, of Langley with back pain; and Melissa Norwood, 14, of Langley with back pain. All were transported to Whidbey General Hospital.Ballog sustained no injuries in the crash.”
