South Whidbey Middle School entered five teams in the Washington State Math Olympiad Competition on Saturday, April 28th. Medals were given to the top scoring schools in two categories.

The 6th grade team (Gabe Gandarias, Maddox Smith-Heacox, Macie Vande Werfhorst & Naomi Atwood) won one medal (and one ribbon), the 7th grade teams (Chloe Goethel, Emma Callahan, Eva Wirth, Emmett Layman & Zander Kuschnerei) won two medals and the 8th grade team, represented by only one member (Max Rodriguez) also won two medals.

This was the strongest showing among all of the middle schools in the surrounding counties.
