This weekend’s church services for Sunday, July 27

Series continues at church

Instead of the usual “scholar-of-the-month” at South Whidbey Community Church tomorrow, Ron Wedeking will continue his popular expository series in Hebrews with “Jesus is Greater than Moses,” based on Hebrews chapter 3.

Wedeking is a former pastor and has academic degrees in Biblical history and Greek from Northwest University as well as graduate studies at Regent College.

South Whidbey Community Church enjoys a wide variety of gifted and educated speakers at each Sunday morning worship service. Both the church and all its speakers adhere to the National Association of Evangelicals Statement of Faith.

Each worship service begins at 10 a.m. and is preceded at 9 a.m. by two adult learning forums: one is a discussion of the Book of Romans, led by Stan Walker; the other a study of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, led by Jim Craft. And midweek Bible Studies continue in the Gospel of Luke, at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, led by Art Angst at Rick and Dinah Zapata’s home.

South Whidbey Community Church is open to everyone and gathers for worship each Sunday at the Deer Lagoon Grange, 5142 Bayview Road, Langley.

The church is a newly-formed independent, evangelical, non-denominational church. For more information on the church and services, go to www.swcchurch.wordpress.com/.

Beverly Graham is speaker at Unity

Beverly Graham will conduct the Unity service at Bayview Community Hall on Sunday.

She will weave her talk around the subject of “labels” and how we tend to use them to define who we are.

Her heart-felt sharing in song and story will lead everyone to a new awareness of the theme of unity among humankind.

The service begins at 10 a.m. Sunday at Bayview Community Hall. All are welcome.

Truth is topic of Sunday service

When Pilate asked Jesus, “What is truth?” he asked a question that people of all ages have continued to ask. Are you asking that question about God? On Sunday, the Christian Science sermon will be focused on “Truth.”

You can also find this topic under discussion at spirituality.com and at tmcyouth.com.

Everyone is welcome.

Services begin at 10:30 a.m. at 2411 E. Highway 525 (across from Useless Bay Road) on South Whidbey.
