Tickets are on sale for Art & Fashions of Whidbey 2008, the annual fundraising luncheon and style show hosted by Home Health Care & Hospice of Whidbey General Hospital and the Friends of Home Health Care & Hospice.
The benefit is 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at Useless Bay Golf & Country Club.
The fundraiser includes silent and live auctions featuring the work of local artists and fashions from Whidbey Island stores.
Tickets are $35 and must be purchased ahead of time at Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce, the Langley Chamber of Commerce or the Home Health Care & Hospice office in Coupeville.
Home Health Care & Hospice of Whidbey General Hospital has been providing in-home services to island residents since 1982. Persons in need of services are confined to their homes because of medical problems.
Home healthcare services include nursing; occupational, physical and speech therapy; and medical social work. It also provides spiritual care, visiting volunteers, bereavement follow-up and emotional support to families.
In 2007, Home Health Care & Hospice helped more than 950 patients and families, and provided 125 community foot clinics.
The Friends of Home Health Care, established in 1984, provides assistance to home health and hospice patients and families who need services but don’t have the money.
In 2007, it provided about $40,000 to more than 250 patients and families on Whidbey Island.
