Advocates of the council-mayor form of government will hold a town hall meeting at Langley United Methodist Church this week.
The meeting will be 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 7 at the church, located at the corner of Third Street and Anthes Avenue.
Speakers will include City Councilman Hal Seligson, former mayor Neil Colburn and Larry Kwarsick, Langley’s director of community planning. Attorney Christon Skinner of Oak Harbor will serve as moderator.
Organizers of the meeting said the town hall will lay out the differences between the council-mayor form of government and the council-manager form of government. Langley residents will vote in the Primary Election on Aug. 16 on Proposition 1, a proposal to do away with the position of an elected mayor and adopt the council-manager model of government.
