When Jesus was tempted by the offerings that the material world had for him — food, power and wealth — he told temptation, “… Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve” (Matthew 4:10). With those words, Jesus was free of temptation.
