Updates made to Langley’s PGA

The Langley City Council recommended two new locations to be included in Island County’s long range planning process as planned growth areas. The council proposed squaring off land south of Al Anderson Avenue and South Piney Knoll Lane as well as Canfield Drive and Woodside Lane at its regular monthly meeting April 18. The proposed changes will reshape Langley’s planned growth area and help guide growth and development over the next two decades.

Mayor Tim Callison said the recommendations made April 18 will go to the county’s planning department for approval. He added that the update is subject to change, as the planners may take input from land owners to be considered in their final designation.

“I thought it was a very open democratic process,” Callison said.
