The Legion sponsored the free Thanksgiving dinner, with help from the Eagles, other local organizations and many individuals.“It was the best Thanksgiving of my life,” McClellan said, describing the delightful scene at the Legion Hall where some 150 dinners were served.Thanksgiving was equally happy for those who couldn’t leave their homes or their jobs for the holiday. Chef Tom Arhontas, working out of the school district’s bus garage kitchen, and his delivery people sent out about 35 dinners, while a similar number came to the Legion Hall to pick up dinners for others.More precise figures and photographs will appear in next Wednesday’s South Whidbey Record.<"
