Three Whidbey Island companies will showcase their work at the Northwest Flower & Garden Show Feb. 19-23.
Woody Morris of Waterscapes in Clinton, Kathleen Miller of Blackfish Gallerio in Langley and Kristi O’Donnell of Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens, Greenbank, will be among the hundreds of exhibitors at the Seattle show.
For the last 15 years, exhibitors from from Oregon to British Columbia have shared ideas and marketed products at the show, which is held at the Washington State Convention Center. The show draws thousands of garden enthusiasts every year.
Morris will show a water garden titled Splendor in the Grass in his exhibit space. The display will highlight bird house designs, low-maintenance grasses, a natural spa and a potting shed.
Miller’s Blackfish Gallerio will be a Marketplace exhibitor at the show. Her display will include individually designed and hand-painted clothing.
Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens will host an educational booth. O’Donnell, the garden’s director, said the booth will promote the woodland gardens and will offer information on caring for rhododendrons.
Design By Nature Gardens, a Seattle company in which Langley resident Cheryl Salvati is the CEO, will design a courtyard garden titled Timeless Passion. Design By Nature Gardens is a full-service design and installation landscaping company.
“Timeless Passion” is described as a Spanish-Moorish courtyard garden reminiscent of ancient gardens of Spain and Persia.
Also at the show will be land consultant Elliott Menashe of Greenbelt Consulting, Clinton. He will present a seminar at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show on how landscaping can reduce erosion and stabilize slopes.
The seminar will take place from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Hood room on the sixth floor of the Washington State Convention and Trade Center.
Visitors can browse an orchid exhibit, 29 fully designed gardens, an art gallery and attend 110 seminars offered by garden design and horticulture experts.
Show hours are 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 19-22, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 23.
