Whidbey General Hospital is looking for another commissioner.
Kristy Miller, hospital board member from the North End’s District 5, resigned for health reasons last week, leaving a second vacancy on the five-member board.
Holly Schoenknecht, representing the South End, resigned in August. A meeting scheduled Wednesday to interview candidates for her position was cancelled.
Dr. Roger Case, board president, said today the remaining commissioners will gather more applicants from the North End through Nov. 15, then interview all candidates later next month.
“We hope to have the new commissioners in place for the December board meeting,” Case said. “We need to get back to full speed. We have a lot of work to do.”
Meanwhile, Scott Rhine, hospital chief executive officer, is scheduled to retire next March.
Miller was a member of the board for 12 years.
Those seeking to replace Schoenknecht are Hal Seligson and Grethe Cammermeyer of Langley, Herb Weissblum of Clinton, Michael Noblet and William Lewis.
