The Whidbey Island Eagles’ annual plant sale raffle had a unique item this year: a football signed by Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

Purchased and donated by Tom Lorenson, the ball was an added prize to the raffle and generated thousands of dollars of additional proceeds for the event, most of which are given back to the community through donations to South Whidbey charities.

Linda Wasickanin sold the winning ticket to her fellow employee at Whidbey General Hospital, Kyrsti Synchak, at Whidbey General Hospital.

Kyrsti and her husband, Jeff, are Seahawks season ticket holders and attended the Super Bowl, in Phoenix, Ariz.
