n Coupeville Garden Club May Meeting, 9:30-11:30 a.m., May 2, Coupeville Rec Hall. Creating Pots With Pizzazz: learn how to select a container and plantings for year round impact. Loads of tips and some soil science willl give your plantings the very best foundation for success.
n Greenbank Garden Club Monthly Meeting, 9:30 a.m., May 2, the barn at Greenbank Farm. A round table discussion member plant and seed exchange and new members and guests are always welcome.
n 21st Annual Eagles plant and garden sale, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. May 4 and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. May 5, The Eagles, located one mile south of Freeland on State Highway 525. A South Whidbey tradition, it’s the big Eagles plant sale where one can find a great selection of plants and trees grown in the Northwest at bargain prices.
n Oak Harbor Garden Club Flower Show, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. May 17 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 18, First United Methodist Church, Oak Harbor. The Oak Harbor Garden Club is holding a standard flower show, “Broadway Musical Play Bill.” It is free and open to the public. See beautiful floral designs and see what grows on Whidbey Island.
n 24th Whidbey Island Garden Tour, June 15, South Whidbey. Visit www.wigt.org to learn about the schedule for the tour that will showcase five gardens on the south end of Whidbey Island.
