It’s not over yet.
The rainy weather that drenched Whidbey Island earlier this week is expected to continue through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.
There is a 70 percent chance of showers continuing through Thursday night, forecasters said today. The likelihood of more showers on the South End will increase through Friday.
Rain is also in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday.
Tuesday’s weather was a real gullywasher on Whidbey Island.
Naval Air Station Whidbey Island reported .76 inches of rain on Tuesday.
Weather watcher George Haglund measured 0.78 inches near Crockett Lake south of Coupeville on Tuesday.
So far this year, Haglund’s weather station has reported a total of 9.16 inches of rain. That compares to 5.21 inches through this week in 2007.
