Once again, the Whidbey Island Association of Realtors took up a collection at their December meeting, and raised a total of $1,000 to support the effort of the Good Cheer Food Bank in Langley.

“Good Cheer has been a favorite of our organization for several years now,” Bitts said.

“We used to have our own food drive. But when we found out how much more Good Cheer can purchase if they have the cash, we decided to literally pass the hat! Plus, it’s easier to transport cash versus canned goods.

“It’s gratifying to see such support in what can easily be termed a challenging marketplace,” Bitts added.
