Whidbey Watershed Stewards will offer two opportunities for habitat stewardship training this year.
Volunteers are needed to help Whidbey Watershed Stewards maintain and keep track of progress on its five completed creek-side restoration sites.
Participants will learn valuable habitat assessment and stream monitoring skills at the free training sessions.
One session takes place Aug. 21-22 and the second will occur in early-to-mid November.
The training also features fish habitat assessment tools, native plant maintenance procedures, non-native plant management and stream monitoring techniques.
