Alice Marie Holmstrom Peterson, 91, of South Whidbey, died Dec. 23, 2002.
She was born Oct. 11, 1911, in Mount Vernon to Edla and Mattias Holmstrom. She married Chet “Pete” Peterson on Oct. 11, 1936.
She was a longtime member of the Lutheran Church and a founding member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland in 1953.
She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers Waif, Vernon, Earl and Rudy Holmstrom; and two sisters, Evelyn Cecotti and Alma Granroth.
She is survived by a sister, Irene Swenson of Edmonds; three children, Sharon Peterson of Edmonds, Sandy Nelson and her husband, Jim, of Freeland, and Susan Lnenicka and her fiance, Scott Blackstock of Yakima and Seattle; Seven grandchildren, Cassandra Jungck and her husband, Mark, of Edmonds, Arthur Allbery and his wife, Patricia, of Bellingham, Shayne Leask and his wife, Melanie, of Edmonds, Ron Lnenicka of Edmonds, Lisa VanZanten and her husband, Craig, of Bellingham, Jamie Nelson of Freeland, and Brock Lnenicka of Bellevue; seven great-grandchildren Tabitha, Forrest and Arthur Jungck, Bryan and Kristal Allbery, Shamel Leask and Ali VanZanten.
A memorial service is planned at 7 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by Visser Funeral Home, Langley.
