Ann Gordon

Ann Gordon passed away in her sleep Aug. 4, 2014, at home on Deer Lake in Clinton. Born Ann Pepper in Walla Walla to Irene and Ray Pepper on Dec. 22, 1935, she grew up in Bellingham, graduating from Bellingham High School in 1953.

Ann moved to Langley in 1960 to work at the Langley Café. She married Bill Gordon in 1970. She was widowed in 1973. Ann worked for many restaurants before she started her own, Peppers Restaurant, operating for 14 years with her husband, Robert Speidel. After selling the business she worked at “The Dreamliner Diner” in the Everett Boeing plant for 14 years.

She leaves her three beloved children, Bena Booth, married to Charles Booth of Short Hills, N.J.; Curtis Gordon, married to Susan Gordon of Clinton; and Gwynn Merritt, married to William Merritt of Issaquah. Ann also leaves numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 9, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Clinton. A celebration in her honor will be held at 1 p.m. at the Holmes Harbor Rod and Gun Club, Langley.
