Barbara L. Hunt, 71, passed away April 28, 2008.
She was born to Joseph J. and Laura M. Montague in June 1936 at Vale, Ore., the seventh of nine children. She had a brother who died before she was born.
In June 1943, the family moved to a homestead between Parma, Idaho and Nyssa, Ore.
Barbara graduated from the eighth grade and high school at Fruitland, Idaho. She went to Kinman Business School in Spokane after graduation.
The next year she went to the University of Idaho, where she met her first husband, Dale D. Marks. Three boys were born of this marriage.
In 1967, the family moved to Whidbey Island. Barbara and her husband were divorced in January 1978.
In October 1978, she married Herbert W. Hunt Sr. who had four children.
In 1968, Barbara started working at Puget Power in Langley. She then went to work at Pioneer Properties, Inc. in Clinton selling real estate.
Barbara is survived by three sons, David Marks of Issaquah, Doyle Marks (Marcia) and Douglas Marks (Mariko) all of Clinton; four step-children, Lorena Welch of Langley, Herbert Hunt, Jr. (Pauline) of Mercer Island, Traynor Hunt (Pettite) of Coupeville and Kimberley Klinke (Ralph) of Sammamish; three grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister. Her parents, four brothers, and her second husband, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland.
