Bethany Ann Barber passed away June 21, 2014, at age 39. She is survived by her loving daughter, Amanda Gates Barber; companion of 16 years, Trisha Mathenia; and many beloved family and friends.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at St. Augustine’s in the woods Episcopal Church in Freeland. Please come comfy in your shorts and flops to share fond memories and tears.

In lieu of flowers, please make a tax deductible donation to Whidbey General Hospital Foundation with note on memo line Bethany’s Box. Bethany started a project at the hospital to help patients with mental health concerns, giving them a box of safe supplies to express their emotions or help to pass the hours, sometimes days, while in transition. The fund will be used to replenish the supplies as well as give financial assistance to other mental health related projects.
