Betty Johnston

Betty Claire Johnston died Nov. 23, 2003, at home in Freeland.

She was born Betty Dahlman, and graduated from Langley High School in 1943. In 1946 she married Ronald L. Johnston, also an LHS graduate. They had three daughters. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. The couple loved traveling, and visited many countries, often with their entire family. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, and she was an avid Mariners fan.

She is survived by her husband, of Freeland; three daughters, Diane Johnston of Edmonds, Cheryl Gordon of Freeland and Gail Thompson of Clinton; six grandchildren, Trevor, Jordan, Nathan, Jason, Devon and Rachel; a sister, Janice Stallbaum, Freeland; and her much-loved Siamese cat, Me Too.

Family and friends will gather to remember her from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the home of Dan and Gail Thompson.

Visser Funeral Home, Langley, is in charge of arrangements.
