Carl Peter Poolman

Carl (Skip) passed away peacefully Oct. 15, 2014, with family members by his side. He was born Nov. 20, 1930, in Puyallup, Wash., to Peter and Dorothy Poolman.

Carl moved to Whidbey Island, where he met and married Anita Surface. Carl and Anita have made Clinton their home for the past 63 years. Carl retired from Associated Sand & Gravel but never stopped “working.” He could always be found working outside on the family farm.

Carl is survived by his wife, Anita; their seven children, Larry (Sandy), Shirley (Andy), Dan (Marie), Tim, Judy, Todd and Mary; and 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

There will be no service at Carl’s request.
