Carol Ann Lloyd, 81, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2021, at Island Hospital in Anacortes. She was born September 28, 1940, at Tacoma General Hospital, the daughter of Norman Wick and Margaret Sollie. Carol met the love of her life, William “Blackie” Lloyd in Moses Lake, Washington. They married in May of 1970, and were together for 36 years before Blackie’s passing in 2006. Carol worked for The Boeing Company for 29 years as an administrator, and retired in 1995.
Carol and Blackie purchased their home in Sandy Hook Yacht Club Estates in 1975, complete with a boat house, where their 40-foot Puget Trawler boat named Penguin, was moored. She and Blackie shared a love of boating, and spent many days cruising Canadian waters with friends. Her favorite marina was Cordero Lodge, located between Green and Dent Rapids in Blind Channel, British Columbia, and on the way to The Broughtons.
Carol had many passions: her Boston Terriers (Banjo, Nicky and Mandy), growing elephant garlic for display at the Island County Fair, her tap dance performances with Island Dance, and her red 1964 Buick convertible with a license plate frame that said “Thelma and Louise are Hotties.” At Carol’s request, no public services will be held. Instead, have a big bowl of chocolate ice cream.
