Carol slipped into heaven gently and peacefully in her sleep, with her sisters by her side. Born prematurely in Clarksburg, W VA, to Mildred (Jenkins) Lambiotte and Henry Lambiotte. Truly a miracle baby, weighing in at only four pounds she was so tiny that she fit comfortably in a shoe box.
Carol dealt with a a myriad of health issues including total hearing loss in one ear, and partial in the other. As a result of this and children teasing her, she fell behind in school and left in the third grade. She went on to learn sign language and to read lips.
What Carol lacked in formal education, she more than made up for in hard work, kindness, and compassion. She proudly proclaimed that the happiest years of her life were as a resident living at Harbor Tower Village where she made many friends. Thanks to the caring and loving staff and other residents, she said she felt safe. Carol was a self appointed greeting coordinator, and was referred to as Harbor Towers sunshine girl. She was a wiz at jigsaw puzzles, word search and had a special talent for embroidering. She was a generous and caring person who will be remembered for the joy she brought to others.
Preceded in death by her husband Maurice Chasse’ Carol is survived by her sisters: Judith Dos Santos and Simone Caracciolo, both of Anacortes, WA. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, to be announced.
