Charles Earl Lee, Sr. of Whidbey Island passed away at his home on Aug. 9, 2008. He was 79.

Charlie was born in Seattle on Oct. 3, 1928.

A graduate of O’Dea High School, he worked at the family fuel business and eventually started his own trucking business.

He retired from Lakeside Industries at the age of 62 and lived on Whidbey Island since 1982.

Survivors include his sister, Dolly Hjelm of Hawaii; children Charles Lee Jr., Linda Duncan, Ken Lee, Mike Lee, Mark Lee, and Joni Hanson and 20 grandchildren; stepchildren, Leslie Mathews, Susie Aumell, Kristi Palmer, Steve Elf, John Elf and Andy Elf and 26 grandchildren.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25 at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Langley.
