Claudia Jean (Macdonald) Ramsey, 89 of Langley, passed away peacefully at her home, February 16th, 2024.

Claudia was born in West Seattle on February 18th, 1934, to Alex and Ruth Macdonald. She was raised in West Seattle.

On a repair call at the home of her mother and father she met her future husband, Russ Ramsey.

They were married on May 15th, 1953, and lived in Bellevue, where they raised two daughters and a son.

When Russ was nearing retirement, he and Claudia moved to Whidbey Island on property homesteaded by Claudia’s great-grandfatherJohn Macdonald.

Claudia enjoyed working the property like her father Alex had done years earlier. Along with her husband Russ, Claudia had a passion for gardening, cooking gourmet dinners, and volunteering her time with Hearts and Hammers.

Survivors include her daughters Rande Ramsey-Cross and Wendy Ramsey Cooper, son Robert Ramsey, and grandchildren Zach and Kelsey Cooper.

A ‘special thanks’ to fellow West Seattle Alum Joan Raymond who was her best friend.
