Dana Gildersleeve was born in Omaha Nebraska. As a young kid they moved to Southern California later laid their roots in Hayward California when he met the love of his life, Nan Gildersleeve. They proceeded to move to Whidbey Island in 1975 where they welcomed their son Jason Gildersleeve and 2 years later had a daughter, Julie Gildersleeve (Kinskie). Dana started a mechanic business at Baileys corner store with his father. They later moved to Bayview and opened a large automotive and tire store, (Whidbey Tire and Auto) where he spent the rest of his years being our local mechanic.

Dana is survived by his wife Nannette Gildersleeve of Clinton, Jason Gildersleeve of Yakima, Julie Kinskie (husband, Ray Kinskie) of Lucile ID and 9 grandkids, Cameron of Bothell Wa Mattason of Lake Stevens Wa, Ryder of Lucile ID, Shannon of Cheney Wa, Nadine of Lucile ID, Porter, Presley, Bailey and Bella of Yakima Wa. Sister in law, Jan, Nephews Royce and Ryan and niece Regan.

He had a courageous battle with cancer and will be deeply missed. At his request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to your favorite charity.
