David Cleary, long time owner of Midway Barbershop, passed away peacefully at home on December 31st, 2022.

Dave was born March 20th, 1958 in Hollywood, FL to Kenneth and Elizabeth Cleary (Rumsey). He served in the Navy and was a cook on a submarine before getting his barber license. He moved to Whidbey Island with his family in 1986, where he bought Midway Barbershop.

Dave is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gwendolyn Cleary, his four children, Rodney Bradley, Shauna Ritter, Sarah Betts and Dana Baker. He is also survived by two siblings, Kathy and Richard and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday February 5th, 2023 from 1-4 pm at the Elks Lodge in Oak Harbor. Everyone is welcome.
