Dick Fulcher, 91, passed away on his beloved “Whidbey Island, America” on Dec. 29, 2018.
He was born in Portland, Ore., on April 18, 1927 to Phil and Edna Fulcher, the fifth son in a family of eight children.
Dick graduated from the University of Washington with a master’s in education. He taught at Loyal Heights, Shafter High, Homestead High, Ohlone Junior College and the University of Santa Clara.
A history buff extraordinaire, he taught world civilization and was a world traveler. His love of culture was overshadowed only by his love of family.
Dick is survived by his wife, Demaris Fulcher; his four children, Edie, Rick, Susan and Jay and their mother; three in-laws; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
