Donald Kennard Bell passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer.
He was beloved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Close family includes his wife, Sharon; daughter Amy and son Matthew; father, Woody Bell (Joy Blew) of Langley; brother Jeff Bell (Phillip Markley) of Lake Forest Park, Wash.; brother Rik Bell (Robin) of Freeland and their children, Shannon Carlton (Allan), Riki Bell, Sean Bell and Kala Bell. He is also survived by mother- and father-in-law Mary and Sam Pullara of Tampa, Fla.; brother-in-law Freddie Fernandez of Tampa; sister-in-law Debbie Rotolo (Steve) of Tampa and their children, Michael and Anthony; sister-in-law Lisa Graham (Dave) and their daughter, Michelle.
Don was born in Tampa, Fla., July 31, 1952. He lived in Clinton at the time of his death. He received a master’s degree in special education from the University of South Florida and had a long career in data processing and telecommunications. Lifelong interests included philosophy and religion, nature of consciousness, astronomy, computer science and technology, music, gardening, hiking, and photography.
A Quaker memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 20103 Highway 525, Freeland, WA 98249. It will be followed by sharing of a meal and remembrances of Don.
