Doris Leidholm

Doris Faith (Johannes) Leidholm, 88, of Clinton, passed into the arms of her Lord on Nov. 3, 2011.

Doris was born to Milton and Mary (Snyder) Johannes in Underwood, N.D. on Nov. 13, 1922. She was the third born of in a family of nine.

Doris followed Ralph Leidholm, the love of her life, to Seattle during the war years where they were united in marriage on July 18, 1942. In 1945 they moved to Whidbey Island.

Doris was very active in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Clinton Progressive Club, Rock Club, Homemakers, and the Ladies Aid. She will be greatly missed and well remembered by all those she touched with her generosity in heart, spirit and kitchen!

Preceding Doris in death were her husband, and her brother Maynard Johannes. Surviving Doris are her siblings Eileen Dell, Iver Johannes, Merl Johannes, Lola Andrews, Claudia Gullicks, Terry Johannes and Lane Johannes; her children Priscilla (Hans) Linquist, Hemet, Calif., Larry (Judy) Leidholm, Clinton, Nancy (Doug Gouge) Leidholm, Kamuela, Hawaii; five grandchildren Nikki Sterba, Matthew Leidholm, Ryan Berg, Nathan Berg and Stacy Leidholm; and seven great-grandchildren, Colton, Austin, Matthew, Kelsi, Kurtis, Wyatt and Wade.

Services were held for Doris at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Clinton, and she was laid to rest in the Clinton Cemetery. Arrangements were cared for by Visser Funeral Home, Langley.
