Emily Downing Amis, 94, passed away Aug. 20, 2004 in Hemet, Calif. She was born March 5, 1910 in Atoka, Okla.

Mrs. Amis was a former longtime resident of Bellevue, Freeland and Langley. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa, was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and was a past member of the Useless Bay Golf and Country Club. She loved playing bridge with friends, golfing, fishing and, especially, being with her family. She is missed by many.

Mrs. Amis is survived by children James and Karen Amis of Freeland, and Joan French of Hemet. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James W. Amis.

A private graveside service will be held by her family at Bayview Cemetery.
