Evan Davis

Evan Lewis Davis, Jr. died March 7, 2004 at Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville He was born to Evan and Mary Ella Davis on Nov. 8, 1934 in Tulsa, Okla., where he attended schools, graduating from Central High School in 1953. He attended the University of Colorado before joining the Army in 1956, where he served for two years. He returned to the University of Colorado to finish his education where he earned a bachelor of science degree in applied mathematics in 1961.

He worked for the Boeing Company as a systems analyst for 32 years, receiving many awards for his work. He married Sally McCreary on Dec. 20,1965 in Minneapolis, Minn. They recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary. He lived for many years with his family in Issaquah and retired from Boeing in 1995. He and his wife moved to Arizona in 1996 and returned to Whidbey Island in 2002. His family was the center of his life and he will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Sally Davis, Freeland; two daughters and their husbands, Mary and Greg Pubols; Jane and Jorn Aronson, Langley; five granddaughters, Amber, Rebekah and Kathryn Pubols and Sadie and Anna Aronson; brother Brian Davis, Tulsa, Okla. and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held March 13, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lutheran World Relief, Post Office Box 17061, Baltimore, Md. 21298-9831 or by calling at 800-597-5972 or online at www.lwr.org
