Eve Schroeder, beloved mother and grandmother, peacefully passed away on Jan. 18, 2012 at Washington Care Center of Lewy Body Dementia.
Eve was born in Margate, England on Dec. 24, 1934, the daughter of Harry and Ann Ellender.
On June 20, 1953 Eve married the love of her life, Elmer Schroeder, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage. The first 27 years she was a military wife. They lived in many of the states, but fell in love with the beauty of Whidbey Island and moved to Langley in 1990.
Eve retired in 1998 from Whidbey General Hospital where she worked in patient accounts. When her husband passed away in 2000, Eve rejoined the work force as a bank teller at Wells Fargo and Chase banks.
Eve is survived by her daughter, Carol Cupan (Paul) and son Mark Schroeder (Peanut); her grandchildren Kristen Cupan, Scott Cupan, Jessica Schroeder Henderson (Joel), Cody Schroeder, Joshua Taggart (Lauren), Cheresa Taggart, who she raised for eight years, and great grandchildren, Riley and Wyatt Taggart.
Preceding her in death was her husband Elmer, daughter Kim Taggart and her parents, Harry and Ann Ellender.
Internment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery and a memorial will be held in the spring.
