Fred Capron Coe, 98, died peacefully on March 13 at Regency on Whidbey in Oak Harbor, Wash., after a long, full life.
Born Aug. 8, 1922 in Ord, Neb., he served in Europe in WWII as a B-17 pilot, and then again in the Korean War. He moved to Whidbey in 2004.
He is survived by his long-time companion Arta Sandstrom; daughter Gail Coe, of Nice, France; and son Alan Coe, of San Francisco, Calif.
