George William Lindsay, beloved husband, and father passed away on the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2021.

George was born in New York in 1924 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1941, on his 17th birthday. He served for 30 years, through World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War before retiring from service in 1971.

After retirement, he worked for the liquor control board and was actively involved with counseling sailors on a volunteer basis. He was married for 66 years and, with his wife Muriel, raised four children. He was a voracious reader, crossword puzzle fan, hunter and fisherman, gardener and played a mean game of Scrabble.

He is survived by his wife Muriel, daughter Linda (Dave), sons George, Roy (Jeannette) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren
