Gloria C. Smith, 71, died Aug. 25, 2003, in Everett.

She was born Oct. 8, 1931, in Portland, Ore., to Harold and Eva Hemeke.

She lived in Everett most of her life, and briefly on Whidbey Island. While on Whidbey Island she was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Clinton. Her mother and stepfather, Eva and Les Bosch, were long-time residents of Clinton, who owned and operated Columbia Beach Resort. They preceded her in death. She spent her last years living in Everett at the Everett Plaza.

She is survived by longtime friends Gerald and Marty Heys and numerous aunts and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 30, at the Clinton Cemetery.
