Gloria (Fung Chee) Chou died Saturday, May 3, 2015, at age 82. Gloria had returned to Whidbey Island after learning she had terminal lung cancer. She entered hospice care at Saratoga View Adult Family Home in Langley.

Those who knew Gloria will remember the light she shone on all those around her and on all things that were important to her. Gloria led an adventurous, daring and, to use her term, “fully conscious” life. She was thrilled that her long desire to refine and publish her memoir came to fruition as she spent her last months completing the writing of her book, “Phoenix Rising.” That book is now available from Amazon.com.

Gloria’s friends will gather at a no-host celebration to commemorate her life 3-5 p.m. Sunday, May 24, at One Spirit Garden, 7191 Holst Road, Clinton. Everyone is welcome, and carpooling is advised. If you choose, you may bring a beverage or snack for the common table.
