Grace Evelyn Knight was born on March 22, 1916, near Prairie, Canada, to American citizens Joseph and Edith Dove. Our beloved mother passed away on Oct. 26, 2013.
Grace grew up on a ranch in the sagebrush hills of central Idaho. She loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and horseback riding. She married Sidney Knight in 1943 and they lived in Boise, Idaho for many years. Later, they moved to Orofino, living on a ranch and enjoying the hunting and fishing. Sid died in 1986 and Mom moved to Whidbey Island, Wash., to live with her son, Richard, and wife Barbara. Grace spent her last three years being taken care of by the loving staff of Careage of Whidbey in Coupeville.
The family treasures the many stories of Grace’s hunting and fishing adventures. A friend once said, “Grace can find game where there isn’t any and catch fish when no one else can.”
Grace was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters. Grace leaves behind a sister Bethel, son Richard and his wife Barbara, grandsons Larry, Kurt and his wife Lorene, great-grandsons Beau and Joe, great-granddaughters Samantha and her husband Brandon, Jackie and her husband Jeremy, great-great-grandsons Dayton and Jaden, and great-great-granddaughter Serenity.
