Helen Schneider Wittenbrock died July 4, 2004, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. She was born in Palouse, Wash., to George and Alice Schneider. She lived in Tacoma and grew up in Wapato.
She married Norman Wittenbrock in Seattle on Feb. 14, 1944. They spent most of their married life in Richland, where they raised three sons, David, Stevan, and Paul. In 1981 she and her husband moved to Race Lagoon until 1994 when they moved to Clinton on Whidbey Island.
She will be remembered for her watercolor and oil paintings and her love of art. She was a loving mother who was constantly urging her sons to do their best. She was an active member of the NAIC Whidbey Investors Club. She was interested in genealogy and spent time researching the genealogy of her ancestors.
She is survived by her husband, Norman; threes sons, David, Stevan and Paul; three grandchildren, Diana, Sandra and William; and by her sister, Lois Noble; her nephew, Allan and her niece, Barbara Bozo.
She was put to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery on July 8. There will be a memorial service for her at Bayview Hall July 10 at 3 p.m.
