Ida M. Dayton passed away Oct. 8, 2002.
She was born was born Nov. 19, 1949, to Jack and Bonnie Gardner in Bellingham. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1967 and attended Bellingham Vocational Tech. During her early adulthood she served on the Mount Baker Ski Patrol and was awarded the Dr. Trott award of excellence. Mrs. Dayton loved the water and spent her free time fishing, beachcombing and taking walks on the beach. One of her fondest activities was searching for agates at Lincoln City, Ore.
She married Edward Dayton Feb. 14, 1993, and they lived in Coupeville.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Brenna Douglas and husband Russel, and Tammie Haslam and husband Bradley, both of Whidbey Island; two stepsons, Eddie of Coupeville and William of Medford, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Shantel of Medford, Ore.; and two grandchildren, Jack and Hannah Douglas of Whidbey Island.
