Jayne Keating, born 1/28/47 in Sacramento, CA, daughter of Henry and Rose Stefani, died at home in Coupeville WA 7/11/22.
Jayne spent her childhood in California and attended Gonzaga University, where she met Tim Keating, her husband of 54 years. Jayne and Tim started their family in Oneonta, upstate New York. Since she was a child, Jayne studied ballet and dance. She dedicated her professional life to teaching and choreographing dance, and instilling a love of movement and art in many children and adults. An irrepressible traveler, Jayne lived in Lugano, Switzerland and Abu Dhabi, UAE as well as outside of Washington DC before moving to Coupeville WA in 2016. Jayne quickly made friends in the small community, where she loved the natural beauty of the Northwest and relished being close to her children and grandchildren.
Jayne is survived by her husband Tim and their two children Ruth and Jake as well as her grandsons Silas and Eli.
Jayne was a buoyant presence at every gathering of family and friends, loved well by all who knew her. She was famous among friends and family for her cooking, especially focaccia, which she learned to make in Switzerland and which despite following her specific instructions, no one could make quite as well as she did.
