John Larry Thompson

John Larry Thompson died on Sept. 9, 2007.

He was born to Harry and Elsie Thompson on July 9, 1933 in Everett. A graduate of Everett High School, Larry lived his entire life in the Pacific Northwest.

After attending Washington State College, he proudly served his country as a member of the Army, receiving an honorable discharge in 1962.

Larry was an avid sports fan, a history buff, a proud grandfather and he enjoyed many social activities at his home in Coupeville.

He was also heavily involved in community work; as a volunteer driver for the elderly, an active volunteer of the Island County Sheriff’s Department, and an active volunteer member of Veteran’s With Permanent Disabilities.

Larry is survived by his sister Audrey Neer (Dave); his three sons Rick (Karen), John (Shauna) and Tracy (Shawn); as well as six Thompson grandchildren, Anneke, Paul, Jack, Emma, Anna and Emily.

He was preceded by his mother Elsie, father Harry, and brother Don (Jeanette).

A memorial service was held Sept. 14 at Evergreen Funeral Home, Everett.
