John Michael Mulcahy passed away peacefully at home in Clinton, WA on Dec. 18,2023. John was born on April 23, 1956, to parents James and Elizabeth Mulcahy in Worcester, Mass.
John graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School where he learned his machinist skills while also working in the profession. After high school, he enlisted in the Marines, and was honorably discharged in 1976. Later, he followed an older brother, and moved to Gresham, OR. John worked for a while at J & J Remodeling doing siding work, before returning to work as a machinist. It was at a J & J company picnic that he met Sally Tomassene, who also worked there. John and Sally married in Portland, OR in 1979 and went on to raise 3 sons-Joey, Danny, and David.
The family moved to the Puget Sound area in 1989. They lived and raised their sons on Whidbey Island where they have stayed for over 33 years. John retired from Coca Cola Bottling in Bellevue in 2017 after working there for 22 years as a maintenance mechanic and operator. John was most proud of his children and grandchildren and passed on his love of the outdoors (hunting, fishing, and camping) and his mechanical skills, to his sons.
John was proceeded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. He is survived by 3 brothers and a sister.
(Jim, Pat, Mike, and Kathy), his wife, Sally, and 3 sons-Joseph (Kelly), Daniel, and David (Megan) and 3 grandchildren-Wesley, Jackson, and Jadyn. John was so proud of his children and grandchildren and his love for his family was immeasurable. His family will honor him privately. John will be always loved and forever missed.
