John W. Kouba Jr., 85, Shoreline, died Dec. 18, 2002, in Seattle.

He was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Chicago.

He was employed as an engineer, and retired from the Army Signal Corps in 1975.

He is survived by a daughter, Lea Kouba of Clinton; a brother, Richard King of Atlanta; a stepdaughter, Barbara Pillsbury, of Paris; two stepsons, Phil Watson in North Carolina and Larry Watson in New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews in Atlanta and Florida.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Jan. 4 at Langley United Methodist Church.
