June Marie Fry, of Clinton, of America’s greatest generation, born June 3, 1927, passed comfortably to her Maker on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, after 90 years, in which she mothered two sons, Michael and Patrick, and two daughters, Jean Henson and Joyce Gaines.
Her husband, Cornelius “Neil” Fry, also of greatest generation as a WWII pilot preceded her. Jean and Michael attended to her in her own home after a stroke struck on Sunday, Nov. 19.
June enjoyed her eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. All four children and many of her family gathered for Thanksgiving and to give thanks for the blessings of her life. June and Neil met after WWII in Wisconsin, their home state, and started a family life journey that took them around the United States, finishing in Ballard in 1967. June adapted to the paradise of Whidbey Island shortly after and served the island community ever since.
