Karen passed peacefully after a recent stroke. She has been reunited with her parents Henry & Norma Mitling and sister Kathy.
She was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. She attended Central High School and was honored to be crowned Homecoming Queen. After high school she moved to California with a long-time classmate. This move had many firsts: a move out of her parent’s home, an airplane ride, and seeing the West Coast. In California Karen took a job at Honeywell, meeting her husband of 63 years, Richard Boyle.
Karen was the ultimate homemaker-making every holiday and gathering special. As recently as July 4th she hosted a dozen family members on Whidbey Island where she and Richard resided for the past 20 years. Karen was a devoted wife, a patient, giving, loving mother, and known as the “fun” grandmother!
Karen is survived by her husband Richard, children Linda, Suzanne (John), Steve (Maggie) Chris (Natalie) and grandchildren Trevor, Devon, Logan and Connor. Karen’s warm-hearted generosity and beautiful smile will be missed.
Make someone’s day special with a random act of kindness. She’d like that!
