Laverne G. Williams

Laverne G. Williams, 84, died May 2, 2003, at home in Langley surrounded by her children.

She was born April 27, 1919, and was raised in New Salem, N.D. She attended school in Chicago where she received her X-ray technician license. She worked in that field most of her adult life while raising four children.

She lived in Seattle, Edmonds and Auburn before moving to Camby House in Coupeville in 1999. For the past two years, she resided with her son Pat and his wife, Nancy (Haralson), in Langley.

She is survived by a sister, Ruth, (Wilbur) of Hoffman, Calif.; children Kathleen (Ted) Stemm of Ocean Shores, Sue Williams (Le) of Kennewick, Pat (Nancy) Williams of Langley and Dennis Williams of Auburn; eight grandchildren, Angela, Krystal, Yvonne, Kenny, Patrick, Chad, Eric and Tracy; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. O.C. and Alma Gaebe; a brother; two sisters; a grandson; and her favorite dog, Sandy.

At her request there will be no services. Memorials may be made to home Health Care and Hospice of Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville. The family would like to give special, heartfelt thanks to The Careage House and Home Health Hospice.
