Lawrence “Jack” E. Bennett, 97, died March 2, 2004, at home.
He was born December 27, 1906, to Green Berry and Ada Bennett in Jessup, Georgia.
He married Thelma when he was 18, and they had five children in San Diego. He moved to Los Angeles, and would later marry his second wife, Clara, who died in 1982. His third wife was Lil, who proceeded him in death at the age of 92. He spent the last four years on Whidbey Island living with his daughter, Lois.
During his life, he served in the U.S. military, enjoyed travel, and was an avid bowler.
His travels took him on numerous car trips to St. Louis to visit family and on cruises to Mexico and Alaska.
He was preceded in death by a son Jack Bennett Jr.; and a daughter Beverly Body.
He is survived by three daughters, Renee Chinn, Charlotte Bennett and Lois Sutton; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday at Visser Funeral Home. Internment will be at Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Everett.
